Digital Safeguarding Support
When technology becomes part of the harm, people need a safe, practical response.
What is Digital Safeguarding?
Digital safeguarding is about recognising when technology becomes part of a situation involving harm, risk or vulnerability, and responding in a safe, practical and proportionate way.
It is not only about cybersecurity. It can involve accounts, devices, location, online behaviour, privacy, communication, evidence and the wider impact on the person.

Who is Digital Safeguarding Support for?
Digital Safeguarding Support (DSS) is for people and organisations who encounter digital harm or technology-related risk but are not necessarily technology specialists.
That can include community organisations, safeguarding practitioners, professionals, volunteers, workplaces and individuals who need a clearer understanding of what is happening and what a safe next step might be.
How DSS can help
DSS helps people recognise digital risk, understand what may be happening and identify a safe, practical next step.
This can include awareness and training, understanding how technology may be contributing to harm, improving confidence around digital safeguarding, and knowing when specialist support or escalation may be needed.
